DOC to RTF
Converting from DOC to RTF has the advantage
of built-in support in all computers when viewing RTF files in
contrast to DOC files which requires Microsoft Word installed.
The advantage of RTF is with it being free, built-in into all
computers and still provide you with a lot of options when it
comes to style and formatting of your document.
In order to convert you will need to be able
to view the DOC file. If you can't, ask the person who sent you
the document to do the conversion for you as follows. Then
resending it back to you, you will be able to view it.
1. Open
your Document in Microsoft
Word

2. Click on the "File" menu (Can also
appear as a big round button on the top-left corner) and under
"Save As", select "Other Formats".

3. Change the Save as type into "Rich
Text Format" (Note: you may need to scroll down in order to see
it). Give your file a name and choose a location (e.g.
Desktop/My Document). When finished hit
"Save"

That's it! You
can now close Microsoft Word and go to where you saved your new
.rtf file.
